The Glitters used in Birdwing glitters are 96.5% cellulose (plant fibre) and have passed laboratory testing to be able to be labeled as a biodegradable glitter. The glitters do have 3% acrylates copolymer a common ingredient found in sunscreen, Hair gels, mousses, hairsprays, mascaras and liquid eyeliners which is not biodegradable- however this works out only 3% of the final product compared to regular cosmetic glitter made entirely of 100% plastic glitters.
